Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

the last pic in the first post there is one of the nicest corals I have seen. teal/purple/blue tenius. great tank. Even better in person.

Well I finally made it down to Tom's and it was worth the trip. That is a great setup colors are great (so was the beer!) and Tom even let me get a few clippins. Thanks Dave

Thanks Everyone for the kind words, and Jasenka your tank is very beautiful as well! I posted all this the moving thread, so if you read that don't bother w/ this :)

I bought a house and moved in the tank last week, here is a update. The tank is looking pretty good so far. I am back to manual top off which is horrible. I really need a day off to get my ro unit up and running. Since my tank is now in the basement it went a bit industrial. No more 10,000 things stuffed under a stand for this guy. I moved the sump out to next to the tank and will eventually string out reef bits all over the basement. I'm looking forward to having a frag system soon and eventually a large tank upstairs connected to the system after I get done remodeling the room that it will go in, and have to money to setup a big tank too. So anyway everything in the tank is a little stressed out, a little bleached or brown, but I am sure that in a month or 2 it will be all good after a couple water changes and some stability in their lives. I will be adding a 1/2 hp chilller here in the next couple weeks once it starts warming up, or I get a min to plum it in and build a little house for it outside. As of right now I have the new Clowns in the main tank and the old clowns are living in the sump. I think that the origional clowns will get their own tank soon, or will end up living in the frag system when ever that gets added. They are happy enough to host to my skimmer for the time being. So anyway here is a full tank shot and a area shot. Please excuse the mess, but I have been run off my feet since moving in to the new place, and havn't exactly had time to get anything organized. Anyway if you look close you can see one of the clowns next to the skimmer in the sump. Notice the IAP prototype getting ready to go into action! It will be nice to get that back on the tank. It was just too much w/ it plumbed out in front of the stand in the old place, now it dosn't matter much.

Looks sweet down there...much better with the halides down there than the lighting we were using this past weekend ;).

haha Brad, it is waiting for me to have a extra few mins to get it plumbed in w/ a bulkhead and get it going again. I havn't used it for quite some time now.

Update. I have the IAP prototype skimmer plumbed in and it is kicking scum butt! I guess I will have to post a pic of that tomorrow or something. So that is the good update, now for the bad. It seems that even w/ all the careful preperations and the team effort when we moved the tank last saturday, wasn't enough. I have lost quite a bit of coral over the last couple days. I am hoping the worst is over, I have lost about 3 good sized pieces and almost everything in my frag rack. I am hoping that after I do a 30g water change tomorrow things will calm down. Time will tell I suppose.

Say it aint so Tom...I'm really sorry to hear that everything is dying. Do you think it could be being caused by the gas furnace or water heater exhaust fumes in the garage?

Eliyah

Man bud, that sucks! Sorry to hear about that. When I kick these red bugs, you're welcome to a frag of anything out of my tank (several for that matter). I think I have a few of the same ones you have. I hope it turns around quick for you.

oh man tom, that is a real bummer : ( I hope stuff pulls through already. Lots of stuff gets kicked up when moving and plenty of things die inside that rock. Hard to do a seemless move, but I sure thought we did a good job. Hope it turns out alright in the end.

tom lets get that tank stable again and we will fill the frag rack. I moved yesterday and I am also hoping for the best.

Thanks guys I am hoping for the best here, that is for sure. I did a 30g water change today, and am making water to do another here in a few days. I have been monitoring all my vitals and they have been good. Alk is around 7dkh, cal around 390, amm 0 nitritates 0 and nitrates .5ppm, ph has been between 8.1 and 8.3 which is pretty normal for me. Today I lost a deep water bali acro, that was just a frag and never did especially well. Things have slowed down for sure so we shall see. Brad I hope that you do better then me!

Hmmm, well the tank is still not looking too hot. I havn't really felt like snapping any shots. How is ur tank doin Jeff.
