This is the tally that Kris and I both came up with. Mark had an opinion (which was for the BOD vote) but since he was a candidate I didnt count it.
I was really hoping the members would pick meeting revote darn it.
Anyway, ONe member suggested we run a poll in this forum behind the scenes. I actually think that this is not a bad idea considering that all of us may not necessarily make it to the next meeting.

If we set up a poll, we can all more or less sneak in here alone and vote until there are five votes in the poll. Then, we can get come back to it and post in a random order that we have voted to finalize the tally.
As long as Ghazni doesnt sneak in and scew our poll we will be done in short order.

This last comment is more of a joke because Ghazni has been extremely good at staying back from all of this election drama but, I figured I'd state the obvious. Please take no offense Ghazni.

Otherwise we have to set something up for the meeting that we all feel comfortable with and then someone has to make the anouncment in public. Whether its liked or not.

Let me know your thoughts.

Make a Poll in this forum and list the canidates.

We can vote and when it's coompleted, the RF Staff can lock it and move it to the open forum after the NEW President makes a statement ( only one ) of acceptance

I am fine with a Poll in the BOD forum.

I don't like the idea of moving it to the PSAS forum when completed though. I feel a simple announcement of our vote is sufficient.

It would be nice if we could get this completed today too!

Arghh! I did not want us to be making this decision! But I think if we are doing a poll here we should move it to the main forum so the count is verifiable.

My previous thought on this was that we would do this at the next meeting with the two nominees and one other member to verify the count.

Well its settled then, BOD poll.
IMO, alot can happen between now and next Saturday for me showing up. I already had to pull strings to make it work.

Ill get it started and then think about wether or not I feel we should publicize it. My first thought is no but If Ghazni gets to view them Mark should be able to as well. The rest of the club said SECRET BOD vote. They put their trust in us and I dont want my vote any more public now than I did then.

It was secret ballot, not secret vote. To me that means we wouldn't be counting raised hands and nobody know who voted for whom, doesn't mean the count would not be public. But I really don't care either way, just wanted to point this out.

A poll is a poll. You just need to vote, not posting of your choice.

After the vote is final, we have Chuck or RF Staff give the new Pres updated permissions so that they can make an acceptance post. Then it can be moved to Main forum and closed.

FYI the Moderator for the Main forum should be the Pres.

I know that we wouldnt be showing hands silly.

I was thinking that since I didnt want the club members seeing my vote the first time (where I would be anonymous with 30 other people) that I surely wouldnt want it publicized with only five votes in a poll. If it were 4 to 1 or whether its 3-2. Its still pretty easy for people to put the pieces together of who voted which way. Id rather not give anyone any ammo to use against me in the future.
I think our poll should be kept private.

Huh?:shock: No, I was more or less just teasing Kris about the show of hands comment, and then coming back with a definate response to my thoughts on whether the poll should be posted or not. Either way, Ill survive this election. You on the other hand...... I want you to know. IMO, you are wanted here regardless of the outcome of this election.

Come to think of it! I am a bit touchy. I went to ARSA and all I could afford to buy was a crummy little psychadelic mandarin goby due to this economy. Yep, Im a little bitchy. :lol: They had sooo many cool corals in there for thier anniversary sale. I only hope that some will still be there next weekend when its all 40% off. That will give me all week to wear my wife down.

JK.. I dont really have any room for more corals. SPS anyway.
