Acrylic Frag Cage Build

It works like a charm. Threw a few bits of flake food in there, and it floated around for a long time. The egg crate doesnt seem to hardly bother the flow pattern at all.
I'm lovin this " SPINNER THING "

WOW Dave.... SAND!!! Finally something to look at besides bare friggin' acrylic for a bottom :target: Or at least if you look at it with one eye closed  I'm glad you came over the the dark side of the farce :painkiller: even if it's just a little bit. What are you going to do when those tiny pesky particles get out of your neat little trays spread around your tank and land where ever they feel like it??? No order, no organization... It's just gonna drive you nuts. :fear: I foresee finding you bent over the tank with a pair of tweezers picking them up grain by grain to return them to their trays only to be blown about as soon as you turn your back for a moment, laughing as they settle where they know you don't want them screaming "GOTCHA SUCKER!!!"

Seriously though... You are a funny man with all your DIY projects. Talented but funny in the fact that they just never stop flowing. As always, keep the never ending creativity going and continue to entertain us my friend.

What is that, a lazy susan snack tray. You pull that out of the back of the cabinets next to the fondue pot?

OH and whats with the sand?

LOL!

LOL
Eric and Lorie, dont get to excited about me having to keep my sand in the "Snack Tray" !! Or getting a pic of me using tweezers.
The past three weeks I have been training Emerald Crabs (15 of them ) to collect any stray Crushed Coral grains and return them to the tray. As you can see in the pictures the bottom is still pretty clean. LOL

Thanks for the kind words. I will keep them coming. Remember its all about the build!!!

Just let me know. I have an extra spinner head I will throw in. on the purchase of a new frag tank build. LOL

leave you alone for 5 minutes lol! very nice Peppie, that black eggcrate is very nice and from some research into why eggcrate grows cyano and HA Ill pass this along,... the plastic isn't the big problem its the additives, one is a fire retardant and the other is a mold release, the "cure" apperantly is multiple soakings in plain old ro/di, its aggressive enough to strip it off the surface.
LOVE the Whirlygig! where does the pipe organ and monkey go?? Woot! as usual haha

I don't know why spinners haven't been used more ... sea swirls and similar's are electronicaly controlled. i think it is a good idea to have flow control the motion. Are we going to have a link as to where we can get these?

Thanks Sas,
I know the egg cr. has issues. What can I say. I will take the chance on the cyno, and HA,
No monkey. Yet....
Going to post up some pics of the revamped powerheads soon.

I added three new powerheads today. They are the Pico Hydor 300gph. I bought the 360deg water deflector attachment for them. The work great. I will add another in a week or so. I bought 4, but loaned one out for a reactor test.
Talk about 1200gph random flow for under $100!!!!!!!!
Pics up on the 4th
