I know they don't do well with higher water temps.... maybe you get a little to warm for them in the summer months?

I run at 78 also, or that is my target.
I've seen upper limits stated at 80 though, and I know higher temps are what has been blamed for lack of availability at times.
Regardless, doesn't seem to apply

Couple nice shots :)

Thank you. It's still hanging in there but seemingly a slow growing kind. Crazier still is I'm able to blow the larger tufts off the rock with a turkey baster and scoop it out with a net. It's definitely a work in progress-lol.

Ordered a new cuc from reefcleaners. Ordered some GFO from BRS, never used it before hope it helps. Finally picked out a new fish!! An ORA Red Sea mimic Blenny. I'm very excited! First fish in over a year.

Ooook here's a bit of weirdness. Out of shear laziness I haven't done a WC since 2/15/17. Guess what? Not only has the brown nastiness on my rock disappeared, my SB is virtually spotless.
Besides the lack of WC the only changes I've made was, I added a cuc from Reef Cleaners and raised my light up 1 1/2"
Now I'm scared to do a WC! I've never gone this long without one. WTH do I do?! New salt mix? I bought new RO/DI filters & Membrane ran them for an hour (something never previously done before) but I've yet to use the water.

Do a water change, prove its not the light or the clean up crew. You can always not do another one.

careful with that stuff, alk mixes to like 12. Water changes with it can cause an alk swing.

i would guess 5 gallons would be ok. you just don't want to move more than 1dkh in a day. i won't use rscp because of the high alk. seems likr any decent size water change is going to spike params.

Just did first 5 1/2g WC using new mix. I was surprised at the condition of my old water after over 30 days without a change. It was as clean looking as the new. :)
