Just a couple cool shots. First shows the skin on my Green Birds Nest almost completely brown, instead of the all white a month ago :) Taken with my iPhone using a flashlight.

Taken under the same conditions, my nocturnal sand sifting Scarlet Leg Hermit. The only Hermit I'd ever own.

Not a dumb question at all. They are one in the same. It has been my experience that Scarlet Hermits (Paguristes cadenati) are a more reef safe crab. Mine has yet to kill a snail, it doesn't climb all over my rock or corals and it is totally nocturnal. Coming out only at lights out and then spends hours sifting the sand. Considered an omnivore, it thrives on slime algae, cyano and film algae.

Red leg hermit crabs are different than scarlet hermit crabs.

True. I stand corrected :) Yet Google either or and you'll find they're one in the same. Even LA refers to the Scarlet as Red Legged. But Google Paguristes cadenati and you get the correct one.

Today I ordered a customized ATO + CA/ALK reservoir from Melvsreef.com & ordered the Jebao Doser from Amazon.
My yearly tax return purchases-lol. Yahooooo me!!
