Peninsula 250 Deep Dimension, New build DIY

I'm awaiting the Final CAD from Marineland. Jonas at Renton Sierra Pets has been invaluable in the customization with the manufacturer. Dims are True peninsula style AGA 60x36x27. Single long overflow on 36" w/2-1.5" durso, and 2-1.5 returns and/or use one as a extra back-up overflow. Driving system will have a Dart 3600gph. Sump is custom 92g 42x30x17. This will contain my existing 3 drawer tower, ATI BM200, 23g Refuge, Aquanetics 25w quartz UV. I'll have a second 1" bulkhead for ATO and water change inline pump. Have already upgraded my utility closet for processing RODI 100gpd ATO 65G vertical tank. Currently mixing using rubbermaid nesting 35g bins. I have created PVC hang-on tank head w/ball valve shut-off's alike gas station heads. Pretty cool. images to come yet on some of this. Not sure of the baffle proximity near the return and what hole diam for the 2" Dart or proper bulk heads to use there, ideas please. The pump I'm getting in March. Lighting will be a suspended hood rack w/ 2 lumitek 2's on IC 250HQI overdriving Radium 20k. Looking into adding retrofit LED Actinics in place of running t-5 Guiesmans.

I have maxed out my 125 in my 12yrs of this hobby and my critters have needed more space. Specificaly my old beautiful Sohal. Heh, the frags I bought at the PSAS Swap are still in my crammed 29Biocube. Hubby thinks I'm bitting off more than I can chew.:heh:

I would probably go with your second thought and use three of the holes for overflows. Have you explored the Bean Animal Overflow? That's what I run on my 180. It uses a closed channel as the main drain, an open channel as the secondary drain and a third channel as the emergency overflow. The open channel drain has an airline that you place in the overflow box so that if the water level rises the airline becomes submerged and the drain functions at a higher volume. The drawback to the setup is that you have to put valves on all three lines and it takes a bit of time to get it dialed in. The good news is that once you do get it dialed in it's extremely quiet. I'll never do anything else.

Why put the overflow in the corner vs. the center?

The overflow covers the entire back of the tank in the write up but i guess she decided to go with the corner overflow. Either way it looks good

Just brought home the lumber. Now begins the challenge. I'' try to post picts as often I remember to take them. In answer to the earlier question on my OF box location. I wanted no obvious obstruction or shadows in my view.

I like the concept, but can it work in my internal overflow box? I have'nt been able to locate a thread of images on how this works for a internal box that is not a coast/coast. Also, will this still work with the drains emptying into my drawer tower as I'm wanting to do. I will not do socks!

Dry fitting stage is comming together for canopy and stand...Who said measure twice and cut once...never did a build. I say "Measure 6 times...cut 2" beyond mark and trim to fit...say 5 more times till fit...LOL

Drum Roll please....build nearly complete.

Canopy is suspended on 3 pulleys and counter weighted in the utility by a 35lb weight and locked w/ hook sets.

Finally moved in the cabinet, whew only 1/2" to spare! down a long hallway. Doors will come later and will be magnetized to frame. Now to prime & paint before the tank comes...haven't heard what day yet, but we'll be ready!
