Bummer...That sucks that it only leaked after adding the rocks and the salt! Was it the weight of the rock that did it? I hope you get it sorted out man...Good luck with it:)

A little tip is to use silicone instead of teflon tape. Just smear in around the threads(dosn't have to be much) and screw it in, and that will just about always do the trick. It is a lot easier then wrapping with tape too.

Okay so I tried a few things to stop the lone leak but i can't seem to do it. Soooooo..........I am going to break the whole thing down and start again. Do it right!.......Right?! I will use silicone instead of the teflon tape (thanks for the tip big T!)and also add a piece of fiberglass screen before the input of the pump just incase any large particles of rock get in the tube they won't damage the pump seal (again! LOL).

Anyway here are a few pics I took before i broke it down again

you can do it dood !!! :D .
don't let leaks get the best of you..... if women can use silicone for other things .... you can too   :D

Well i started last night disassembling all the plumbing. it is a slow process but I am really taking my time to make sure I get good seals on everything.

Well I completed the replumb job and happy to say....NOT ONE LEAK. I wanna thank all y'all for all the positive feedback and advice! You know....I've been in this hobby for 35 years, even owned my own fish store, was a breeder of fish for African Northwest. and I'm still learning things. Isn't this hobby great!

Now I will run the tank for 2 weeks and then start to tranfer some of my corals to it. I plan to order some sps from Soutas. But that will be in a few months when i feel the tank has matured enough. Of course I will keep the pics a comin. Plan to add rock tomorrow and take a few pics then. Oh i will also be adding a clean up crew (astreas and peppermints) and a few fish my daughter insist that we have (no more than 4!).

Thanks Krish. I never really got frustrated with it, I just get tapped for time this time of year. Thanks for all the positive feedback.:D

BTW how's that little cutie doing!

Yes Morgan i will cycle for 2 weeks and see where i am at after that. I am happy so far with the overflows...a little nosiy but i have some ideas on how to fix that. As for curious snails....at first I will let them end up in the sump and if it becomes too great of a problem I will cover them with fiberglas screening.
