Hi Brett, its me Cesar... long time no talk....

Are you worried about your elegance being in the sand? i have read that most of the time sand irritates elegance and ends up dying???

Btw, I have been in and out of the forum... I see that this is a new tank? very nice indeed... what happens to the shark tank? or something...?

I've had my elegance in the sand for over a year and i've found it prefers it there. I've only heard that they prefer the sand and hate it in the rocks.

You tank is coming along great B. So has your photography skills. Keep up the great work.

Thanks man. I can't really figure out the full tank shot but I think it's an angle thing. Im gonna try a tripod.

I totally agree, and will sum it up by saying.....

Wow, very nice tank and great pictures! Everything looks happy and healthy.

Thanks, Hopefully someday my corals will be so full, big and beautiful, I'll have to upgrade to a larger system like you did!

Hey Cesar, how have you been doing? I have only seen them in sand so I assumed that was fine, without researching it first. Ill look into it. Thanks.

As for this tank I set it up last April. Actually filled it April 9th. I have been pretty slow to adding fish and coral and have been rewarded with a pretty stable system.

The shark tank is gone. The company I now work for gave me a work truck I have to park inside at night and the tank was in the way. I parted out the system. The tank went somewhere out of state and Sirang (roscoe) got the sump (which is now his 270g display) and I ended up getting about $2600 out of the whole setup. I would be a terrible financial investor huh?

Alright. I bought this 47LB piece of live rock from trido last weekend and after some major re-aquascaping I am pretty happy with the end result. Here are a couple sloppy pics!

Thanks guys..... Things are clicking right along.

Im actually gonna get in on the group order for those LED units. Wife told me to go for it.

So more to come...

Your lucky to have a wife that is supportive (in any capacity) of your hobby.;)

If you get time, can you post a before and after FTS? Your colors in there are amazing!!

Yeah she is sick in the head or something. I think these pregnancy hormones are making her enjoy fish tanks or something. She found a coral on CherryCorals and had me order it for the group buy.

As for the FTS before and after, I will take one tomorrow evening. I found only one before shot, and it isn't great, but its still what the tank looked like before I added that premium rock.

Getting rid of the halides!

I have not been happy with my lighting for a long time. I started with 400's and then downgraded to 250s because 400s were so freaking bright! Since having these 250's for three months I have already tried 20k XM, 20k Coralvue, 22k megachromes and I have not been able to find a bulb I am happy with. I run three bulbs so thats nine mistakes.

After learning about these LED's (link below) I knew this was an answer to several issues I have had.

I have not been able to find the blue/white balance I want. This fixture allows me to adjust that mixture from 13k to 25k.

Hi K bulbs do not have the par, and do not grow the corals of a lower K whiter/yellow bulb. If I understand it correctly, I can program the fixture to run the lowest K setting while I'm at work, and switch to a color more pleasing to my personal taste before I get home from work each day. Grow corals at day, party at night.

My eyes have been sensitive to lights recently due to a health condition. Not all the time, but it has sometimes kept me from being able to enjoy my tank. These lights are fully programable and can be dimmed. This is very exciting to me. :)

POWER BILL, sells itself. Okay almost. :p

HEAT, sells itself. Seriously.

I have placed the order through Barrier Reef who now carries these lights.

The minute I have this thing in the house I will be snapping photo's of the box. I will be sure to post photo's and maybe a video or something. Exciting things to come.

Your tank is 72" long right? LEDs are that good that you can miss that extra 1' and still have good covrage? All though you arent full blown sps so I guess you dont need that much light.

Six inches from each end is probably not going to be noticeable. Kind of how we hang our MH's anyway. ;)

Yeah I got the measurements of the light and each LED panel is directly centered over each opening of the tank. There should be no shadows from the cross bracing. It should look amazing.

Brett I have no doubt you going to love that setup. I will be wanting to see it in action when you get it in and setup :)
